Angry Shark Blues

   Hear the latest, alarmist scare:
   rising seas will make coastlines bare;
   warming water makes cool sharks rare;
   coastal folk had better beware!
Climate change means angry sharks all around.

   They’re vexed and peeved, dissatisfied,
   incandescent, fit to be tied;
   they’ll go berserk; you’ll be upset
   to see how cross those sharks can get.

   Apopleptic, and far from glad,
   those livid fish are really mad;
   so, seeing red, and feeling sore,
   furious sharks move right next door!
Climate change means angry sharks all around.

   Indignant sharks deserting seas,
   raging hot and spreading disease.
   You hear those whispers in the breeze?
   They’re wrathful sharks infesting trees!
Climate change means angry sharks all around.

   Heed the mainstream media’s news:
   irate sharks bring the warmist blues!
   All land-dwellers, dare to be wise:
   fearsome sharks will take to the skies!

Song 01 – “A Thirty Second Song”

The first song of this challenge is a rather short one:

A Thirty Second Song

It isn’t very long—
my thirty second song—
   but that is all the rules* allow.
The seconds go so fast
(already eight have passed)
   but moments can be full, somehow.

Recalling that this song’s no more than half a minute,
you’d hardly expect great profundity within it;

but, nonetheless, you’d find
that, if I were inclined,
   I’d have important things to say
which need not take much time;
alas, however, I’m
   avoiding deeper stuff today.
This thirty second song
is not so very long;
   in fact it must be over now.

*  simple rules for a thirty second song:  it must be a song which lasts thirty seconds exactly; bridges are optional.

The Plan

I shall, over the course of 2012, attempt to produce fifty-two songs—using a rather broad definition of “song” to include anything vaguely musical which I upload to a musical site.
